I usually don’t care too much about cosmetic fluff, but this new inspect animation in
bo6 bot lobby is absolutely ridiculous—and not in a good way. From a competitive standpoint, it’s a straight-up distraction and a potential liability in ranked matches.
First, it’s too long. We’re talking about a multi-second animation that completely locks you out of aiming or reacting. In casual lobbies? Fine. In Search & Destroy or a tournament? It’s a death sentence. The animation isn’t just a visual gag—it’s a commitment.
Second, the sound cues are louder than some killstreaks. You inspect your gun, and suddenly you’re announcing your position to the entire map. Players can literally use this as audio bait or detect campers. It might be fine in Warzone where chaos rules, but in 4v4 modes, every little detail counts.
Then there’s the visibility factor. The animation makes your weapon and body move in exaggerated ways—drawing attention you don’t want. If you’re holding an angle or hiding, doing this inspect might expose you through a window or behind cover.
I get that devs want to sell bundles and keep the cosmetics fresh, but there should be a different standard for animations that affect gameplay. Either let us disable or shorten flashy inspects in competitive modes, or reserve these extreme animations for non-ranked playlists.
Right now, it feels like another example of form over function. I’d rather have a quick, clean animation that lets me check my gun without turning into a Broadway performer. Balance should come first—especially in a game trying to maintain an esports presence.
